今回はジャック・ブルースのボックス・セットの特集をします。
現在、手に入る物から貴重なものまでありますが、ジャック・ブルースのマニアマックなファンは是非手に入れたい作品ばかりだと思います。
と云う私も全部を持っている訳ではありません。
今回もとても長いです。
興味のない方はスルーしても構いません。
覚悟して読んで下さい。
45年以上のキャリアを誇る大ベテランのソロから、バンド、コラボレーションまでをも網羅したアンソロジー盤で、全110曲入り。ソロ作からのセレクトはもちろん、プロ・デビューとなったアレクシス・コーナーズ・ブルース・インコーポレイテッドを皮切りに、ジョン・メイオール＆ザ・ブルース・ブレイカーズ、マンフレッド・マン、クリーム、ウエスト・ブルース＆レイング、BBMなどなど、数多くの名演を収録。なかにはこれまで未発表であった音源もあります。
ボックスにはまた、ジャック・ブルース自身による解説と貴重な写真を掲載したブックレット（68ページ）も付属される予定です。
6月発売のUK盤に続き、日本盤（MSIG-0494～9 税込15,750円）も7月25日に発売される予定。

JACK BRUCE/Spirit: Live At The BBC 1971-1978(3CD BOX) (1971-78/Live)
この 3 枚組のディスクセットには、これまでにリリースされた 2 つのジャック ブルース コンサートが収録されており、少なくとも公式には聴いたことのないセッションが収録されています。
これらは彼の完全なBBCセッションではないことに注意してください。
熱心なファンは、ここにないものについて屁理屈や議論をするでしょうが、ここにあるものについては同意する可能性が高いでしょう。
後者の議論への貢献は、ブルースのアルバム『ハーモニー・ロウ』で演奏したギタリストのクリス・スペディングとドラマーのジョン・マーシャルによる70年代のキラー・サウンズのセッションが除外されていることである。
ディスク1
トラック1から9には、スペディング、オルガニストのグラハム ボンドマーシャルが出演した1971年のBBCイン コンサートセットのほとんどが収録されています。このバージョンには優れたステレオ ミックスが含まれており、以前に Windsong からリリースされていたよく海賊版化されヒスシーなモノラル テープのように聞こえません。
他の3つのカットはすべて素晴らしいもので、サックス奏者のジョン・サーマンとドラムのジョン・ハイズマンによる未完成のジャズ・イン・ブリテンのセッションからのものです。
ディスク 2
カーラ・ブレイ、ミック・テイラー、ロニー・リーヒ、ブルース・ゲイリーによる、1975 年のオールド・グレイ・ホイッスル・テストでのベーシストのパフォーマンスの再盤です。
番組がそのように放送されたため、これはモノラルですが、サウンドは模範的です。ボーナスとして、オリジナルの放送を完全に復元し、『Strange Fruit』リリースから残された「Without a Word」が含まれていることです。
※ディスク 2 の最後の 2 カットとディスク 3 の最後のカットにはサーマン、ブルース、ハイズマンによるジャズ・イン・ブリテンのセッション全体を構成しており、プログラム上の前述の 1971 年の日付から 7 年後となります。 (したがって、このセットのタイトルには「1978」が付いています)。
ディスク 3
残りの部分は、ドラマーのサイモン・フィリップス、ギタリストのヒュー・バーンズ、キーボード奏者のトニー・ハイマスによる 1977 年のパリ劇場でのイン・コンサート・ライブに捧げられています。
バンドはブルースの『How's Tricks?』をサポートしていました。アルバム。おそらく元々クアッドでミックスされ、その後ステレオにリマスタリングされたためか、サウンドは素晴らしいです。

2019 Live At Rockpalast 1980, 1983 And 1990 (5CD+2DVD)【CD】 7枚組 80/83/90年TV放送用ライヴ 5CD+2DVDリリースされた。 80年10月19日の独エッセンはGRUGAHALLE公演 MILES DAVISやSTANLEY CLARKEとの仕事で知られるドラマーBILLY COBHAM HUMBLE PIEやCOLOSSEUMのギタリストCLEM CLEMPSON BRUCE SPRINGSTEENやSANTANA、ERIC CLAPTON、STING、JEFF BECKのキーボーディスト/ギタリストDAVID SANCIOUS 83年には引き続きDAVID SANCIOUSを引きつれ、ドラムにはBRUCE GRAYを起用しています。 90年のステージはBRUCEのソロ・コンサートとなっています。
クリーム（Cream）などでの活躍でも知られるジャック・ブルース（Jack Bruce）が、ドイツのTV番組『Rockpalast』に残したライヴ・パフォーマンスを収めたCD5枚＋DVD2枚のボックスセット『Live At Rockpalast 1980, 1983 And 1990』が海外で4月26日発売。リリース元はMIG Music。 1980年にJack Bruce & Friends 1983年にJack Bruce Band 1990年にソロで出演しライヴ・パフォーマンスを行っています。
