I am building the "Color Fantasy," a massive cruise ferry operated by Color Line.
このカラー・ファンタジーは、一般的なカー・フェリーからは想像もつかないような、豪華客船としての機能と設備を備えています。まずは、その魅力から見ていきましょう。
The Color Fantasy features the luxury and amenities of a grand cruise ship—something truly beyond what you would expect from a typical car ferry. First, let’s take a closer look at what she has to offer.

キットは、ドイツRebell社の1/1200のキット
１．仮組み（Dry Fitting First）
最初に、主要部品をランナーから切り離し、仮組みをして全体バランスのチェック、部品同志の合いを確認します。船の全面と客室側面との合いが非常に悪いことが確認できました。
（I detached the main components from the runners for a dry fit to check the overall balance and ensure the parts aligned correctly. It became clear that the fit between the ship's bow and the cabin sidewalls is extremely poor. ）
２．デッキの塗装（Painting the Decks Next）
次にデッキの色を塗布します。ここは木甲板ではありませんが、実際のカラー・ファンタジーの写真を見て、一番近いダークイエローを塗布しました。デッキはマスキングをして、船体色の白を後でエアブラシで塗装します。
（I applied the deck color. Although these are not wooden decks, I referred to photos of the actual Color Fantasy and chose Dark Yellow as the closest match. I will now mask the decks before airbrushing the hull in white.）
３．艦首の塗分け（Masking and Painting the Bow）
艦首部分をマスキングして、船体色の白をエアブラシで塗装しました。
（I masked the bow section and airbrushed it with the primary hull color, white. ）
４．艦舷側と艦底の塗装（Painting the Hull Sides and the Bottom）
最初に艦底色を塗装し、喫水線でマスキング（これがものすごく大変で難易度が高い）します。私は0.3mm程の極細マスキングテープをガイドとして１周巻き、残りの部分を大胆にマスキングテープで覆いました。艦舷側を光沢の青で塗装しますが、透けない様にする為に、4度重ね塗りを行いました。勿論最初に塗装した艦首部分の白の部分も丁寧にマスキングしておきます。
（First, I painted the hull bottom. Then came the masking of the waterline—an incredibly difficult and high-precision task. To tackle this, I wrapped a 0.3mm ultra-fine masking tape around the hull as a guide, then covered the remaining areas with standard masking tape. For the hull sides, I applied four layers of glossy blue to ensure full opacity and prevent any translucent spots. Of course, the previously painted white section of the bow was also carefully masked throughout this process.）
５．デッキ部分のマスキングと船体色の塗装（Masking the Decks and Painting the Hull Color）
細切りマスキングテープでデッキ部分を覆い、本体色を塗装します。大変複雑なマスキングですが、船体色を塗布し、十分乾燥させるます。
（I covered the deck areas with thinly cut masking tape and applied the primary hull color. While the masking was incredibly complex, I ensured the paint was applied evenly and allowed it to dry thoroughly.）
まずは客室とプロムナード部分。
（First, I focused on the cabin and promenade sections.）
「海上のグランドホテル」のシルエットが美しく浮かび上がってきました。
（The silhouette of the 'Grand Hotel at Sea' is emerging beautifully.）
そして、上部構造物。マスキングを剥がすと、これで基本塗装が終わりになります。次は窓の塗装になりますが、どうやって塗装するのが良いのか試行錯誤しながら進めていきます。
（Next was the superstructure. Once the masking was removed, the basic painting was complete. The next step will be painting the windows; I am currently moving forward through trial and error to find the best technique for this delicate task.）
艦尾に青色の吹きこぼれがありますが、後で丁寧なタッチアップでリカバリーします。
（There is some blue paint overspray on the stern, but I will recover it later with some careful touch-up work.）
注：デッキはまだ接着していないため、パーツが浮いて少し隙間ができています。これらは最終組み立ての際に完璧に合わせる予定です。
（Note: The decks are not yet glued in place, so there are some slight gaps where the parts are lifting. These will be perfectly aligned during the final assembly.）

出航まで１か月を切ったので、そろそろ準備をしないと・・・・
