歴代のランサーエボリューションシリーズに搭載されていることで知られる。最初の名は4G63ではなくG63B（後述）。通称「シリウスエンジン」。
4G63は排気量1,997cc・4気筒、水冷、ボア×ストロークは85×88mmで、いわゆるロングストローク型である。

過去記事のオーストラリアのサニトラにもランエボのエンジンが搭載されており、比較的エンジンルームが小さいクルマで、ハイブースト大パワーを求めるとこのエンジンに辿り着くのかどうなのか。

FDのドラッグマシンは、珍しいような気がする。

Upon first glance, we did NOT expect to see a Mitsubishi 4G63 4-cylinder motor tucked into this Mazda RX7’s engine bay…an LS motor maybe..but definitely not a 4 cylinder engine! Who can blame the owner though? The 4G63 is a BADASS little motor! Taking 65 psi of boost like it’s breakfast, and slinging this lightweight Mazda down the track with EASE! We just wish we could have seen the E/Ts!
