Former IndyCar driver Dario Franchitti will be at the wheel of a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 at this year's Indy 500 race on May 25. The high-performance Z/28 will serve as the race's pace car, marking the 25th time a Camaro has had that honor at the Indy 500.

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 should have no problem lapping Indianapolis Motor Speedway, thanks to its 7.0-liter V-8 engine, sticky tires, advanced suspension, and clever aerodynamic aids. When our colleagues at Motor Trend took the 505-hp 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 to the test track, they managed to knock off a 4.0-second run to 60 mph and pulled 1.07 g of cornering force around the skidpad. At Germany's Nürburgring, the car even set an impressive 7-minute, 37-second lap time. For pace-car duty, several prominent Indy 500 decals adorn the black 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.
