自称猫ブログ 〜 猫23匹と英語と Genkiのブログ 〜

スコティッシュフォールド23匹との暮らしや2大手予備校の一つと学校で英語を教えている日々を綴っています。
Cats, English, and sometimes cooking - these things I love in life. Whatever I think worthy of writing, I will write here.

Hi, today I write about
something different from cats...

Good evening!
Today for the first time
in a long time
I have decided
to write in English

But not about my cats
but about my life
in the countryside
of Saitama prefecture

"Oh, then,
what was the picture
of Kiseki at the beginning for?"

You may think so

Sorry, it is just to
make this page more attractive
to cat lovers, maybe...

Now then,
I live in the countryside
of Saitama.

Someone said
that it is a grace
of Saitama city
that a 20 - 30 minute train ride
can take you to
the city center of Tokyo

while as long a ride of bicycle
can take you to the countryside
like this:

Uooops, it's Kiseki again, sorry...

Well this is a park close by

I usually jog around in this park
And this park reminds me
of Wollaton Park
in Nottingham

I finished my diploma course
in English
at Nottingham University

And there was a big park
just across a road
from the university campus
(I think I heard that university
campus itself
used to belong to the same
estate of a noble family)

At that time I was
too preoccupied
with life in England
and living alone
for the first time apart
from my family.

Maybe it was a bit too much
of something new for me,

since living abroad is
one thing
and on top of that
I had to take care of myself
not only in my academic course
but also in my private life...

I was a bit too depressed
to appreciate
the beauty of the place.

This is another photo
of the same park in Saitama.

Looking just beautiful,
ain't it?

(Of course, it is still very hard
to do running in midsummer
even around the time
of sunset, though.

But it's always better
to run somewhere beautiful
than in places
around concrete buildings;

you could have at least
something to look at
and comfort yourself. )

So to those
who have never lived
outside a big city,
I strongly recommend life
in the countryside.

The other day
when I took my dog for a walk,
I thought,
"well, I might not have time
or enough energy
to go abroad and enjoy myself,

but still living
in this beautiful place
all the time is so nice,
and I wouldn't replace
this joy
for most of life spent
in a concrete jungle
and just a tiny portion
of it in somewhere
totally exotic."

Well, thank you for reading
this blog
Have a good night!
