『なし水』っていう商品を
買ったことはありますか？
Have you ever bought
a product called 'Nashimizu'?
そう、私が買ったわけじゃありません
これ セブンのくじの
「当たり」くじで
もらったものです
I haven't bought this, it was
a prize I was supposed to win
with a lottery.
でも、私としては別に
清涼飲料水を必要だったわけ
じゃないので
「はあ？？」という感じでした。
Well, I didn't need to buy
any flavored drink,
so Oh, well, okay ...
That was my reaction.
セブンのくじって
なんか不思議なものが
当たりますよね
一度当たって困ったのが
「アイスクリーム」
It seems that
they made something a bit odd
a winning prize for their lotteries.
I once "won" an icecream.
(That particular flavor,
I didn't like nor dislike either.)
アイスクリームを手渡されて
「おめでとうございます」
と言われても
「え？？これここで食うんかい？？」
という感じ。
溶けちゃいますからねえ。
（くじをとっておいて
後から貰いに行く、
とかできるのかもしれませんが
なんにしても面倒ですよね）
But it WAS an icecream,
which would melt
if you didn't eat it right away.
Oh, no, I came here to buy
just something to bite for lunch.
And even before eating lunch,
am I supposed to eat an icecream??
That's what I thought.
(I don't know whether
I could come later
with the win lottery
to ask for the icecream,
but nobody would want to come
to Seven Eleven
just for an icecream which you don't particularly like. Would you?)
まあ、仕方なく溶ける前に、
しかもランチの前に
あまり好きでもなんでもない
アイスクリームを食べました。
（断りゃいいんだよね、きっと）
Well, anyway I did eat the icecream. Generally I don't feel like
wasting food, and
the day was a bit hot, too??
(Perhaps I should have
turned down the offer.)
さて、この『なし水』に話しを戻すと
なんとセブンのおばさん
「これ、甘みがあっておいしんだよ～
でも、ごめんね、今落としちゃったよ」
とか、わけのわからんことを
言っています。
そして後で気づいたのですが、
底から少し水漏れが…。
おい～、別に頼んでいない商品を
押し付けるなら、
せめて扱いには
気をつかってくれよ～～
という オチが付いていたのでした！
Well, to talk about this "Nashimizu,"
the shop attendant
(an early 60s lady) said
"this is a tasty drink,
a kind of sweetish.
I like it, but I am sorry
that while carrying this I
accidentally dropped this, sorry!"
That's what she said.
Me: ?????? I see this is
a lottery-won product,
and I don't pay anything for it.
But I didn't ask for
this particular drink either.
You could at least
deal with the item more carefully??
Well, I would never understand
the point of lottery there,
except that those 'won' prizes
are actually less popular items
and a lottery is a quick way
to open the space in shelves for something more popular.
