I sometimes have to 

work at night

even well into midnight

For I have to mark 

my students' essays

I don't have to check 

students' scores for 

multiple-choice questions

They are mature enough

to be able to check 

their own score.

Even translation of 

English passages

into Japanese, 

most students can judge

whether they wrote 

right answers.

But for English compositions

I have to go through 

each student's paper

one by one

And it takes ... ages

I need to stay up even 

until early morning

to mark their essays.

While working 

in the living room,

my cats usually 

keep company with me

by their presence

because I hate to 

be left alone in a room

after midnight...

Even they fall asleep 

like the one in the picture, though
